Typeface SearchSo now that you know the categories of type, I would like you to find examples of each from professionally printed materials. Some examples of professionally printed materials include magazines, newspaper, books, catalogs... not the kind of thing that you print out of your home or school printer!
As you go through a magazine for example, when you find a word, ask yourself if it has a serif. If it does, is the serif curved, especially where it connects with the main stems of the letter (making it roman serif) or is it square (making it square serif). If there is no serif, it is sans serif. Keep in mind that it can fit into more than one category. So what are you looking for? I would like you to find:
