Cropping the Ad
Once it's straightened there will be a white edge around most of the ad. If it was torn out of a magazine or even if it was cut but not cut straight, it will have an edge that needs to to be cleaned up. The crop tool will help you with this. Just make sure that you don't cut off any more than you have to, specifically text and parts of graphics.
