This notepad has a staggered edge that must be trimmed.
With the notepads padded and dried overnight, they are ready to be removed from the padding press. The padding cement has probably not only glued the sheets together, but to the padding press too. Use a knife to carefully cut them away from the press. Now you have a notepad.
Look closely at the edges. Even if you took time jogging the paper, the edges of your notepad are probably not all aligned perfectly. This is not a problem. You can simply trim the edges (we're talking about removing a sixteenth of an inch or less) with the hydraulic paper cutter. You'll find the newly cut edge to be much more smooth and satisfying. It's all explained on the padding handout.
This notepad has been trimmed and has a much cleaner, smoother edge.
