Illustrator - Rasters vs. VectorsSo now that you have started to get to know Illustrator and created a drawing with it, we should discuss what it is that makes Illustrator so powerful. It's not just how it can be used to draw images, but it's the type of images that it produces. Illustrator is a vector graphic program. Anything that you create in Illustrator is a vector. This is the opposite of images that are photographed, created in Photoshop, or found on the web. We'll talk about the differences, the advantages and pitfalls of each and types of files for each.
