Notebook - Checklist
Every lesson, demo, step and assignment that you have seen or done throughout the marking period needs to be in the notebook. Yeah, there will be a lot of pages to your notebook. To help you compose the notebook and put everything in order, I have made a checklist to help you.
As you look over the checklist, you'll notice that I have broken it down in chronological order and by project. As you put your notebook together, this is the order that you should put the papers in to get the most possible points. If you don't have one of those pages, just skip over it. Each new section (which is a project or unit) is underlined. Just like the Graphic Designers that create your text books do, you need to create a divider or welcome page for each section. Rather than simply jumping into pages of text for a new chapter, your text books often have a page that explains the new chapter, includes graphics, and separates it from the last chapter. A good divider should have an effective design, possibly graphics (that are are relative to the unit), and text explaining what the chapter is. If you would like to see an example of a good divider, just ask me and I will show you some examples that other students have made. As you go through the notebook checklist, I will tell you to star certain items. These things should have label sheets made for them. The Offset Lithography Note pad's thumbnails for example, should be cut out and placed on a sheet of paper that labels it as the thumbnails for Offset Lithography. You could even ad a graphic or design along the edges to add to the appeal. As we ran through the projects, you probably noticed that each unit or project has been copied on a different color of paper. This should help you to organize too. Keep the color coordination going. All label sheets, project reviews and dividers should be made on paper that is the same color as the unit's handouts were copied on. This will help your grade. As you create your notebook, just remember that it is a big project (which replaces a final) with a big grade (300 points). This is an art class, so please take your time and make it look good. Appearance is a large part of the grade for the notebook. If it looks like a hurried messy, your grade will reflect it. |
